This certification confirms that Sustana’s fiber products meet the most rigorous international standards for food-safe packaging.
Following extensive evaluation, ISEGA has verified that EnviroLife and EnviroNatural comply with:
- The U.S. FDA regulations (21 CFR 176.170 and 176.180) for paper and paperboard components in contact with aqueous, fatty and dry foods;
- The EU Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 on food contact materials;
- The BfR guidelines and Council of Europe’s Technical Guide for paper and board used in food contact materials;
- CONEG/Toxics in Packaging laws and Regulation (EU) 2025/40; and
- DIN EN 71 safety standards for chemical and heavy metal migration.
- The certification confirms that Sustana’s recycled fiber grades are safe for use in papers and packaging that come into direct contact with dry, moist, and fatty foods.
