Burgo Verzuolo resumes recycled containerboard production

Burgo's Verzuolo mill in Italy is up and running again after 10-day downtime due to water treatment issues, Euwid reports.

Burgo had to interrupt production operations at the Verzuolo paper mill on 7 Ferbuary due to problems with the mill's wasterwater treatment plant, according to Euwid.

Burgo used to produce coated magazine paper (LWC) at the site until last November, but was converted to packaging paper production due to the ongoing structural decline in the magazine paper market.

Verzuolo paper mill now houses one paper machine with a potential to produce up to 600,000 tpy of recycled corrugated case material for the corrugated packaging industry. The problems with the wastewater treatment plant were reported in the start-up phase of the rebuilt PM 9.
