Smurfit Kappa announces major investment in Scotland

Smurfit Kappa UK & Ireland is investing in high quality print and conversion equipment in Tannochside, Scotland.  This investment further enhances the already unrivalled market offering of the Smurfit Kappa Print Division.

With a central location in Scotland, the plant acts as a key supplier to brands that want to promote their products which are seen around the world.  With the ability to print on lighter weight substrates this enables our customers to keep their brand promises but give a reduced environmental footprint.  Being part of the Smurfit Kappa Print Division gives security of supply to meet the most challenging print volumes and capabilities on a consistent basis.

This transformational investment is supported by the skill and determination of the Tannochside workforce.  Leading in high quality post print in Scotland, the team has responded to the additional strong demand and higher graphical requirements by producing work that is industry leading.  With the move from drop in cases to wraparounds, this investment is ideally positioned to meet future changes in our customers requirements.

In addition to this, Smurfit Kappa is investing in the manufacture of Division / Partition products in the Tannochside plant.  This multi million pound investment allows both Lokfast Solidboard Interlocking Divisions and Corrugated Divisions to be produced.

Smurfit Kappa is able to support its Scottish customers in a sustainable future and meet the demands of a rapidly growing market.
