Arkhbum-Pack plans to build new consumer packaging plant in Russia

On July 22, 2020, an Agreement of Intent on the implementation of an investment project for the construction of a plant for the production of consumer package in the Kaluga Region was signed between the Government of the region, the authorities of the municipal district of the Borovsky District, Kaluga Special Economic Zone of Industry Type JSC and Arkhbum-Pack LLC (a subsidiary of Arkhangelsk PPM JSC, a part of Pulp Mill Holding, the Austrian-German group).

 

The document was signed by Vladislav Shapsha, the Acting Governor of the Kaluga Region, Nikolay Kalinichev, the Head of the administration of the municipal district of the Borovsky District, Evgeny Veselkov, the CEO of the Kaluga Special Economic Zone of Industry Type JSC and Irina Galakhova, the CEO of the Arkhbum-Pack LLC.

 

The planned amount of investments in the implementation of the project will be about 2 billion rubles.

 

About 200 jobs will be created.

 

According to the signed document, the land plot required for the implementation of the investment project will be located within the boundaries of the Kaluga SEZ on the territory of the Borovsky District of the Kaluga Region, respectively.

 

Vladimir Krupchak, a member of the BoD of the Arkhangelsk PPM, commenting on the Agreement signed, noted that the shareholders of the company - Pulp Mill Holding - decided to expand the holding's product line based not only on the market situation, but, above all, guided by new environmental trends: “The paper bag is a green alternative to plastic package”.

 

Vladimir Krupchak also specified the parameters of the holding's new investment project. In particular, the equipment will include flexographic printing presses, as well as several converting lines for the production of paper bags.

 

The raw materials for the production will be white kraft paper and board of the Arkhangelsk PPM.
