FPInnovations, a not-for-profit world-leading R&D institute, has received $20.6 million in Canadian federal funding aimed at reinforcing innovation in the forest industry.

The funding announcement was made during the Ontario Forest Industries Association's 72nd annual meeting. Pierre Lapointe, President and CEO of FPInnovations, comments:

“We thank the Federal government for their unrelenting support of the forest sector transformation agenda that has been at the center of many exciting technological advances realized by FPInnovations. As the forest sector invests in innovative new products and technology and pursues non-traditional markets, this support will help improve Canada’s competitiveness resulting in a stronger economy and more jobs.”
