DS Smith is expected to complete its €208 million acquisition of Romanian paper and cardboard packaging makers, EcoPack and EcoPaper. The deal is to be completed this March, according to the information obtained by local daily Buna Ziua Brasov. Both companies were previously part of a group controlled by local businessman Vladimir Cohn, and operate production facilities in Zărneşti and Ghimbav.
The move will allow the UK group to further expand its position in Romania where DS Smith already operates a subsidiary in Timisoara, in the country’s western part.
