Romanian Competition Council clears paper producer’s acquisition

Romania’s Competition Council has cleared the acquisition of a majority stake in local paper producer Rom Pa-per Brasov by cardboard manufacturer Vrancart Adjud.

The acquisition is estimated to be worth up to €6.5 million. Following the takeover, Claudiu Puchin, the founder and shareholder of Rom Paper Brasov, will continue to serve as the company’s director gen-eral, according to the information obtained by local news site Prof-it.ro. Vrancart Adjud aims to invest in expanding and modernising Rom Paper Brasov's output capacity.

Set up in 2002, Rom Paper Brasov operates a production facility in Brasov, in the country’s central part, and specialises in making tis-sue paper.
