Pankaboard opens sales office in Connecticut

Pankaboard announced that it has established a sales office in Stamford, Connecticut (USA).

"North America is a key market and the physical presence in the US will facilitate optimization of service and sales to existing and prospective customers," Pankaboard said in a press release.

The Stamford office will be led by Michael Walsh, formerly with Stora Enso North America. Walsh has extensive knowledge and experience with cartonboard products, end users and US logistics.

"This sales office is the 5th office located outside of Finland. It is part of a long term strategy to increase sales and improve service in key markets," the company added.

Pankaboard operates an integrated pulp and paper mill in Lieksa, eastern Finland. The mill produces 100,000 tpy of groundwood pulp, 110,000 tons per year of folding boxboards, groundwood-based speciality boards, solid bleached boards, and uncoated specialty boards on two board machines.
