Arkhbum eyes to become leading tissue producer in Russia

"Arkhbum tissue group", one of Russia’s largest paper producers will expand its flagship facility in the Russian Kaluga region by the building of its second and third stage, according to the company and some local media reports.

The agreement with the Kaluga authorities was signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russia’s most important annual business event, while the new plant will specialize on the production of sanitary and hygienic paper and products from it.

 

At the end of April 2021, the company and Valmet AB officially signed a contract for the supply of equipment for the paper machine No. 2 (PM-2) with a capacity of 70,000 tons of products per year. Thanks to this, its output will double and reach 140,000 tons per year. The commissioning of the second unit is scheduled for November 2022.

 

The total amount of investments in the implementation of the second and third phases of "Arkhbum Tissue Group" will amount to more than ₽20 billion.

 

The third stage of the plant will increase the capacity of "Arkhbum Tissue Group" up to 210,000 tonnes a year. The number of employees will increase by 299 to 685. The completion date for this project is the end of 2024.
