Kemira Chemicals to close its Äetsä chlorate site manufacturing line permanently

Kemira Chemicals starts employee cooperation negotiations with the operational employees at Äetsä site in Finland. Kemira Chemicals Oy plans to close the Äetsä chlorate site manufacturing line II permanently.

Therefore the need for employment declines materially and permanently. Additionally, Kemira Chemicals aims to improve long term profitability at the site. To reach the target ways of working and organizational structure must be simplified and renewed.

The cooperation negotiations start on January 25, 2021, and take two weeks. According to a preliminary estimate these planned changes will lead at most to nine redundancies at Äetsä site.
