Total US packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments up four percent in October 2020

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has released its October 2020 Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Monthly report. According to the report, total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in October increased four percent compared to October 2019. They were up four percent when compared to the same 10 months of 2019.

 

The operating rate was 86.1 percent, down 2.5 points from October 2019 and essentially flat (-0.4 pts.) year-to-date.

Mill inventories at the end of October remained essentially flat (-765 short tons) from the previous month, and were up 17,000 short tons compared to October 2019.
