Rayonier halts newsprint production and sawmills at seven Canadian mills

Rayonier Advanced Materials will take downtime at mills which are not deemed essential in times of coronavirus, Euwid reports.  

Rayonier Advanced Materials has announced downtime  or production curtailments at seven Canadian mills. The measures are related to the spread of coronavirus.

The company will stop newsprint production at its Kapuskasing mill in Ontario, Canada, with a newsprint capacity of 220,000 tpy. In addition, Rayonier will reduce or cease operations at all its six softwood sawmills located in Ontario and Quebec in Canada.
