ND Paper, the Nine Dragons subsidiary, is proceeding with its plans in the US and has now restarted its rebuilt Old Town pulp mill, one year after acquiring it, according to Euwid.

The pulp line, which used to produce bleached hardwood pulp with a capacity of 155,000 tpy before its conversion, will now produce unbleached softwood pulp with an initial output of 150,000 tpy, ND Paper announced.

Production is then expected to increase to around 270,000 tpy in the next two years following a second round of investments that the company is planning. The mill employees 130 people at the moment.

ND Paper acquired the pulp mill, which is situated not far from its Rumford facilities, in October 2018 from OTM Holdings.
