Award winning,  British IPS (Intelligent Packaging Solutions) are celebrating the launch of TE-cap, a new tamper evident packaging solution designed for the ice cream market.

A new innovation, the TE-cap is a combination of a lightweight paper pot and a deep-freeze grade polypropylene lid.  The patented lid design provides a tamper evident seal delivering product security, with easy opening and re-closure for consumer convenience.

Although tamper evident containers are well established in the food industry, the tamper feature has normally been designed into injection moulded plastic pots.  However, this innovative lid design can make even paper containers tamper evident.  The packaging features an injection moulded break-off tab and skirt which eliminates the need for foil or membrane sealing and provides instant evidence of any interference. This is a convenient way to assure the consumer that package contents have not been tampered with prior to purchase.

The paper container provides good insulation, excellent print quality and is perfectly suited for deep freezing.  The paperboard is produced from renewable resources and the lid is suitable for onward recycling.
