Poland’s Abris cancels €15M investment in Slovene hygiene paper maker

Polish investment fund Abris Capital has withdrawn its €15 million investment in Slovenia’s state-run hygienic paper maker Paloma. The investment was to be followed by the fund’s bid to acquire the Slovenian manufacturer.

Abris Capital decided to cancel its investment and bid for Paloma af-ter the Slovenian company’s minority shareholders asked a court to scrap the deal, claiming that Slovak investment fund Eco Invest was ready to edge out the Polish fund with its offer, according to the infor-mation obtained by Reuters.

Under the plan, Paloma’s privatisation was to be launched this year.
