The Paper exhibition POS 2017 brought together the leading figures in the industry. Paper One Show 2017 – 4th International Exhibition of Paper Industry in the Mena Region took place from 11 to 13 of December 2017 at Sharjah Expo Centre.

The exhibition, organized by Al Furat Fairs Organiser contributed markedly to the UAE industry which has now become one of the fastest growing paper markets in the world. 

Paper One Show Provided New Opportunities for Exhibitors and Visitors. Around 100 internationally recognised companies from 26 countries exhibited at Paper One Show, 2017.  Exhibitors showcased their new technologies and cover tissue paper, card board production, converting machines, paper mills lines manufacturing, raw material, chemicals, spare parts, accessories, finished products and traders.

Paper One Show 2017 gathered all the components of the industry with the support of the Arab Federation for Paper, Printing and Packaging.

It was a great honour to have his Highness, Shaikh Khaled Alkasemi as the inauguration guest, alongside Dr. Fadi Gemayel, the President of the Arab Federation for paper printing and packaging. Mr Erdal Sukan the president of the Turkish paper association and Tarek Fakkas, the CEO of Alfurat Fairs organiser also honoured POS 2017 with their participation.

Paper One Show provided a perfect opportunity to access the markets in the UEA and its neighbouring countries. Throughout the duration of the fair, nearly 2.500 professional visitors came from Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Gulf States.

İpek Kağıt, Kemtec, Solenis, Crown Paper and Ittihad Paper were special Sponsors. İpek Kağıt was Platinium Sponsor, Kemtec was the Gala Dinner Sponsor, Solenis was Badge Sponsor and Ittihad International Investment and Crown Paper Mill were both Conference Sponsors for the event.

With the national and international professionals' participation, Paper One Show once again the place which provided promising business contacts with new and exciting import and export opportunities.  The exhibition brought together companies from 26 different countries on December 11-13.                  

International Paper One Show Conference held on the first day of the exhibition. POS Conference focused on the future of the industry with important subjects and guests. The conference was well attended and gave the audience a wealth of ideas that will help to evaluate and improve business.

With the moderator, Mr. Atul Kaul, the conference hosted valuable international speakers this year. Dr. Fadi Gemayel the President of the Arab Federation for Paper Printing, shared his knowledge on "General Situation and Competition in the Paper Industry in the Area". Dr. Enrico Angelucci, Manager of International Operations of the Kemtec, attended the event and gave a speech on "The Effective Ways on using Chemicals in Paper Industry". Mr. Esko Uutella, Principal, Tissue, RISI, shared important information on "Tissue Capacity, Production. Growth and Future in the MENA Region". Mr. Oktay Orhan, Product Manager of the İpek Kağıt gave a speech about “ İpek Plants and Products”. Mr. Amer Kakish CEO of the M/s. Ittihad International Investment, shared his knowledge on “Investments in the Paper Industry Concerning the Mena Region”. The final speech by our moderator Mr. Atul Kaul Director of the WARAQ Arab Paper Manufacturing Co., was about “Waste Paper and Recycling in the Card Board Paper Manufacturing”.

The Gala Dinner which was sponsored by KEMTEK and AL Furat Paper Trading Co. was tremendous fun, a wonderful variety of delicious food was served in an old oriental heritage atmosphere with traditional dancing, horse and camel riding and musical entertainment. It was offered free of charge to over 200 guests from exhibitors to VIP visitors, all of whom enjoyed the friendly, amiable atmosphere.                                                                                                                                                  

The exhibition was the 4th edition after a discontinued period of 7 years.The political situation, war in many areas and visa issuing restrictions to many nationalities had clearly affected the number of visitors. Nevertheless, those that attended were all serious business partners very professional with commercial and technical staff from over 40 countries.
