ProJet will deliver a new dry end edge trim system to Sappi Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd Ngodwana. The order was included in ProJet's second quarter 2017 orders received. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

The ProTrim will be equipped with redundant pumps and redundant nozzles guaranteeing the highest availibility of teh system. Pressure used is up to 4,000bar (60,000psi) and the edge trim is adjustable from 20-300mm (0.8-12 in.)

The Protrim will provide an elimination of edge tears and guarantee less broke. It will be installed before the winder which enables bypassing of the rereeler; only rolls requiring patching or splicing are rereeled because the ProTrim is used for format adjustment.

Another installation position of the ProTrim is after the calender, to cut the uncalendered edges and thus protect the edge areas of the rolls since the web is run wider than the nip and thermal stress on covers is thus prevented.

The equipment is scheduled to be delivered in Q4, 2017 and installation & start-up in Q1, 2018.
