The folding carton industry supply chain members will meet from 14 until 17 September 2016 in Antibes/Juan-les-Pins (France) for the ECMA Congress. On congress day 1 ECMA presents an external vision on our own industry. Which external drivers influence our industry? Phil Gwoke will speak about how the intergenerational conflict, and how to transform generational diversity from an obstacle into an opportunity. He is followed by Matthijs van Leeuwen who explains Big Data, and the potential implication data could have for your company. Steven van Belleghem will show how to integrate the online and offline world, and what it takes to implement a digital relationship with your customers. Day 1 is closed with the presentation of the Pro Carton Sustainability Study on the importance of sustainability in packaging by Dominic Cakebread and a keynote presentation by John Thackara on why sustainability is disruptive. Stefan Kero will explain why a different mind-set is required for the Folding Carton Industry 4.0 to become truly digital. For the first time ECMA presents it 360° Industry Update, showing what has happened since our last congress in 2015, and providing a better understanding of industry trends and developments. Peter Fisk will demonstrate how Big Data could lead to Big Ideas with Big Impact. The congress is closed by Nick Fry, the former CEO and co-owner of the F1 Mercedes Petronas team. During his speech on ‘How Mercedes Wins’ he will present Mercedes’ road to success, and how the team is operated (including the use of data, the need for continuous innovation, and the importance to celebrate success).
