New KPA Unicon’s biofuel plant in Kauhajoki, Finland
Kauhajoen Lämpöhuolto Oy and KPA Unicon have signed an agreement for the delivery of a 14 MW Unicon Renefluid biofuel plant to Kauhajoki, Finland. The plant will be handed over to the customer in February 2020.
The new biofuel plant will be the main plant generating district heating to the area and will replace the existing heating plants in Lellava and Aronkylä. The main fuels for the plant will be forest residues, recycled wood and milled peat.
The delivery includes a 14 MW biofuel boiler, fuel storage with 4 section scraper conveyor, crushing rollers, conveyors, screen, bag filter and two-horn stack. In addition, the plant contains PlantSys control station, alarm and reporting automation, as well as remote assistance from KPA Unicon’s Haapavesi central control station. Delivery is performed on a turn-key basis, excluding civil and foundation work.
When choosing a solution KPA Unicon has focused on the following issues:
- Finished design and industrial solutions ensure high availability and excellent efficiency
- The ability to burn fuel with a very high moisture content and flexibility in different load situations
- Easy serviceability and usability
