CGW to acquire Lacaux Frères

CGW strengthens its position on the corrugated packaging market in France, and adds 60 million m² of corrugated board to its capacities by acquiring French company Lacaux Frères, according to Euwid.


French corrugated packaging manufacturer Cartonneries de Gondardennes (CGW) and its competitor Lacaux Frères announced they had signed a corresponding agreement. The transaction is expected to be completed in April.


Lacaux is an integrated producer of corrugated board and packaging. The company can annually produce up to 60 million m² of corrugated boardas well as 40,000 tpy of recycled containerboard.


CGW also produces recycled containerboard as well as corrugated board and packaging. The company has capacities of 180,000 tpy of recycled corrugated case material and 300 million m² of corrugated board. CGW also operates four sheet plants.
