Toscotec obtains Austrian PM6 contract
Smurfit Kappa’s Austrian subsidiary Nettingsdorfer Papierfabrik has selected Italy’s Toscotec to to rebuild the dryer section of the company’s paper machine 6 at Nettingsdorf mill.
Toscotec said in a statement that the mill is one of the leading containerboard producers in Europe, and the PM6 makes Kraftliner with a 7.4 m reel trim and 1,100 mpm speed.
"The rebuild of the dryer section of PM6 is part of the Future Energy Plant Project. This forward-looking project has the objective to reduce CO2 emissions by 40,000 tonnes," the statement said. "With this rebuild, Toscotec breaks new ground and takes it to the next level, by supplying a new dryer section for a large-format paper machine."
