Kurita in EUR 250 million deal with BK Giulini

In a bid to strengthen position in Europe, Japanese firm Kurita Water Industries will invest EUR 250 million to acquire water solutions, paper solutions and alumina compounds businesses of BK Giulini (BKG) and its affiliates.


The deal includes acquisition of production sites in Germany, Turkey and China, R&D facility in Germany and sales offices in nine European countries.


“Kurita sees the technologies and products of the BKG’s businesses as highly complementary with those of Kurita, leading up to the strengthening of product portfolio by combination of both technologies and development of more diverse product offering for its customers as well as top-line growth by cross-selling,” according to the company statement.


The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
